We’re thrilled to announce that Tai Christensen, President of Arrive Home, has been named the Chair of the California Mortgage Bankers Association’s (CMBA) Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I) Committee. In this prestigious role, Tai will share leadership duties with the committee’s current vice-chair, Stephanie Whittenberg. Together, they will work to further the CMBA’s mission of promoting diversity and inclusion within the mortgage lending industry.
The CMBA first launched its DE&I Committee in 2021, with the goal of fostering a more inclusive environment across the mortgage sector. Tai’s appointment as Chair is a significant step forward in advancing these efforts. “I am excited to continue to assist the CMBA’s efforts to promote diversity in the mortgage industry,” Tai said. With a career dedicated to bridging the homeownership gap in underserved communities, Tai is eager to initiate more conversations on how industry leaders can drive this much-needed change and advance the future of the profession.
As the co-founder and President of Arrive Home, Tai leads a program that offers down payment assistance and alternative credit solutions to underserved borrowers nationwide. Her extensive experience includes her previous role as Director of Government Affairs and DE&I at CBC Mortgage, where she worked on initiatives that expanded access to affordable housing.
In addition to her new role with the CMBA, Tai serves as Chair of the American Mortgage Diversity Council and sits on the board of Axis Lift 360, a nonprofit focused on diversifying the talent pool within the mortgage industry. Her commitment to DE&I has been recognized with numerous accolades, including the 2023 National Mortgage Professional Women of Inspiration Award, the 2023 HousingWire Woman of Influence Award, and SUCCESS Magazine’s 2023 Emerging Entrepreneur Award, among others.
Stephanie Whittenberg, who will be co-chairing the committee alongside Tai, expressed her enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating, “I am looking forward to working with Tai to advance the California MBA’s DE&I efforts. She has a powerful voice within the mortgage community, and I am certain that, together, we can effectively bring this important cause to the forefront of industry conversation.”
We’re incredibly proud of Tai’s achievements and look forward to seeing the positive impact she will continue to make in her new role with the CMBA.
